Norristown Farm Park is a working farm in continuous use since colonial times. The park is home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna. There are fifteen historic buildings on the property, the earliest dating from 1764. Eighty percent of the park is dedicated to growing farm crops.
Norristown Farm Park has plenty of picnicking areas and paved trails for bicycling, rollerblading, and walking, and are handicapped-accessible. Two trout-stocked streams provide ample fishing, and bird watchers can spot over 170 species. Guests can visit Millennium Grove, a site planted with historic tree groves. Winter activities include sledding, skiing, and snowshoeing.
