LancasterHistory.Org is a combination of the Lancaster County’s Historical Society and President James Buchanan’s Wheatland. This large campusĀ  contains not only an archive, library and exhibition gallery, it also has on it’s ground the Tanger Arboretum.

This national landmark has just reopened in the spring of 2013 after completing a 19,755 sq ft addition. This will now include new research facilities. learning centers, collection storage areas and educational auditorium.

Part of their initiative is to make the center more park-like and visitor friendly. The arboretum contains aver 100 different species of trees.

There is a separate charge for Wheatland.

Late tours on Tuesday and Thursdays
